Chennai Super Kings (CSK), led by MS Dhoni, made strategic moves in the IPL 2024 mini-auction, securing a strong squad to defend their title. However, amidst the buzz, a die-hard Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fan extended an unexpected plea to Dhoni, urging him to join RCB and lead the Virat Kohli-led side to IPL glory.
During the auction press conference in Dubai, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming addressed inquiries about the succession plan for Dhoni. Simultaneously, a devoted RCB fan expressed, “I’ve been a die-hard RCB fan for 16 years, and like the way you’ve won five titles for CSK, I want you to come to support us and win one trophy for us.”
Dhoni responded gracefully, acknowledging RCB as a strong team in the IPL. He emphasized the unpredictable nature of cricket and wished every team the best. However, he highlighted his commitment to CSK, stating, “I have so many things to worry about in my team. Imagine me coming out of the way to support or help some other team. How will our fans feel?”
CSK’s IPL 2024 squad boasts key acquisitions, including uncapped big-hitter Sameer Rizvi and New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra. Dhoni’s CSK also secured Daryl Mitchell, replacing the released Ben Stokes. The star-studded squad aims to continue its IPL success under Dhoni’s leadership.
